when we follow google guidelines, then we find that the site should be w3 validated. although i know that how to check any site in w3.org. but i just want to know that how it help to get ranking in the search engines.

it is not like that, if your site is not w3 approved, your site can not be promoted. but yes this is always a better practice to pass the w3standard for better understanding of your pages by the engines and might be they can ready them well and assign a proper position.
